At Stedelijk College Eindhoven, we pay a lot of attention to the pupil. We find it important that students feel comfortable and enjoy going to school. For cognitively talented pupils there is a lot to choose from. Besides the regular subjects, pupils can do extra activities after school, such as Chinese, philosophy, chess and participation at the debate team.
There is also a peer group MHB (multiple and gifted). In that group, pupils can discuss anything that concerns them: from things they are very excited about to things they might need some extra help with. For example, topics such as executive skills (e.g. planning and task initiation) often come up in Year 1. The aim of this group is to provide pupils with a safe environment in which they can share what they want to share and learn with and from each other.
If you participate in the MHB programme, you will meet like-minded students (peers) in a peer group. There are two groups:
POINT 040
Stedelijk College Eindhoven participates in POINT 040. POINT stands for Appropriate Education for Every New Talent and 040 stands for the Eindhoven region. POINT is a workspace focused on educational research.
Primary and secondary school teachers, trainee teachers, scientists and students work together to investigate how to improve appropriate education for pupils with multiple and gifted characteristics.
