Joint Participation Council (GMR)

What is a GMR and what does it do?
At Stedelijk College Eindhoven we do not have a separate participation council (MR), but we work with a Joint Participation Council (GMR) and sub-councils. The GMR thinks and decides about matters that affect the entire secondary education within our foundation (SILFO). Think for example of policy, organization and developments at board level. The GMR consults with the director and meets twice a year with the Supervisory Board.

The GMR-VO consists of 5 staff members, 3 parents/caregivers and 2 students. In this way we ensure that parents and students are also well represented in important decisions.

What does the sub-council do at our location?
In addition to the GMR, at each school location of SILFO there is a sub-council, which discusses with the education management about topics that are specifically important for that location. Consider, for example, the annual timetable, educational developments or facilities for students. In the sub-council there is room for discussion, reflection and together ensuring a nice, well-organized school.

The district council consists of 4 staff members, 2 parents/guardians and 2 students.
