The Campus is a special program within Stedelijk College Eindhoven, available exclusively at our school. This innovative learning route runs alongside the regular and bilingual program and offers a smooth transition from primary to secondary school. The Campus is specially designed for curious, inquisitive and independent students who can plan well, enjoy working together and are motivated to get the best out of themselves.
Learning by doing, discovering and reflecting
At De Campus, it’s all about experiential learning: you experience, experiment and explore. You work on current projects in an inspiring learning environment, set personal learning goals and think about what you need to grow. In addition to being taught the “regular” subjects, you also learn to collaborate, plan, reflect and present. It is important that you are curious and able to work independently.
We work closely with our other location on Oude Bossche Baan. This means that as a student, you will have access to the facilities and expertise of both locations and benefit from a powerful combination of practical and theoretical subjects.
Customized guidance
You will be guided by inspiring teachers who provide in-depth subject knowledge, explain the course material and supervise projects. You will also have a personal learning coach who will help you plan your week, set goals and reflect on your learning process.
At De Campus, we mainly use formative assessment. This means that we regularly look at how you can improve your work and together we examine what is needed for you to continue to grow. We assess at different levels (beginning, developing and proficient) and therefore do not use grades.
There is always someone there to think along with you, help you and challenge you when necessary!
The living room: the beating heart of The Campus
The living room is the central location of The Campus. It is an open and pleasant space where you can feel at home. Here, you will work together with your class and your learning coach on your personal goals, your schedule, or ongoing projects.
Every week, you start with a Campus hour, filling in your weekly planner. With the help of your coach, you learn to set goals and discuss what actions are needed to achieve them. Then you get to work, sometimes independently, sometimes in groups. You end the week on Friday by reflecting on the week.
At The Campus, you can work flexibly: on benches, at tables or in quiet areas. There is work by students on display, there are plants, colours and atmosphere – it really is your learning environment.
Different levels, one learning route
Students of different levels – from from vmbo-basis to vwo – learn with and from each other at De Campus. This creates a rich learning environment in which you not only learn what you need to know, but also how to collaborate with people who think or work differently from you. Everyone can work at the level that suits them best for each subject. This allows you to take each subject at the highest achievable level.
The program covers the entire junior year:
Just as in regular education, you work towards the same core objectives and attainment levels, but the way in which you do that is really different at The Campus – and that makes it a unique experience in Eindhoven.
“The Campus is super nice. I first wanted to go to another school, but my teacher said it would be convenient to go to The Campus after all. Now I am so glad I chose this, otherwise I would have regretted it for sure!” Maissae
“You don’t just have to work with books. You work and learn in different ways, and at De Campus you often work together.” Junaid
“I think The Campus is an impressive learning method with lots of fun practice pieces at location Oude Bossche Baan. You also work with practice tests instead of tests with grades, which I really like!” Zyno
“Super nice and fun because you learn to work with children and you learn from each other because everyone has a different level.” Reyna
