Test weeks and project days
At our school, we have test weeks four times a year, followed by project days. During the test weeks, you take important tests for various subjects. Immediately afterwards, during the project days, you work on a larger project, sometimes individually and sometimes together with others.
Test guidelines, PTO and PTA
At our school, we see tests not only as a way of assigning grades, but also as an important part of learning. We believe it is important for pupils to learn to reflect on their preparation, effort and growth. In this way, we encourage a positive and learning-oriented attitude towards testing.
In the lower and upper years, we work with the PTO (Programme for Testing and Transition) and in the upper years also with the PTA (Programme for Testing and Completion). These programmes provide clarity about which tests are administered and how the results count towards transition or the central final examination.
More information can be found in our school’s testing guidelines (Dutch version).
Central final examination
At the end of your secondary school education (in the final year of your programme), you will take the central examination (CE). This is a national, written examination that all secondary school pupils take in order to complete their education and obtain their diploma. The central examination is part of the final examination and is taken at the same time throughout the Netherlands.
