Freedom of choice, cooperation and customised learning
At The Campus, pupils are given freedom of choice within clear frameworks. They learn to think critically and discover that making mistakes is allowed and part of the learning process. Students of all levels work together, allowing everyone to work at the most appropriate and highest attainable level.
You will gain practical experience at our location on Oude Bossche Baan, where you will work with skillslab. In addition, all subjects work together on an overarching theme (unit), so that learning is better aligned to your experience.
Instead of grades, you will receive formative feedback, using practical assignments, tests and assessments to find out what level you are at and where you might need extra challenge or help.
Full-fledged student and flexible curriculum
Students at The Campus are full-fledged students of our school just like in the other departments: they have breaks at the same time as others, join in on activities such as the bridge camp and receive the same care and support, such as the possibility of “plus hours”.
We work with the IMYC curriculum, which is in line with the national core objectives (SLO). Depending on the subject area, we work with textbooks, digital methods or other forms, always with opportunities to work at different levels.
Via the student monitoring system “Schoolpoort”, assignments are prepared and submitted so that your progress is properly monitored. In the unlikely event that The Campus does not suit you, transfer to regular education is always possible, in consultation with your learning coach, parents and yourself.
How does learning without grades work?
We reflect constantly, in between and at the end. We do this through rubrics, interviews, assessments, testing (without judgement) and presentations. We call this formative learning. When your child starts at The Campus, we explain it to you in detail. So you can grow, learn and discover without grades.
Education Inspectorate
The Campus meets the same requirements as regular schools (teaching time, SLO core objectives, pupil monitoring system, working towards exam requirements).
Formative action
The Campus works with a pupil monitoring system in which pupils are followed by formative action. Not product, but process is central.
What is IMYC?
The International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) is an educational concept for pupils aged 11 to 15, built around the needs of the teenage brain.
This means students learn more, have more fun and are more aware of their development. Our aim is to partner with secondary schools to (better) organise IMYC and learning around the school’s educational vision.
